BBRCC was formed originally in Birmingham and grew through the introduction of friends and family to quickly become a national club.

Accommodation – In 1973, we purchased Cae Groes, a converted farmhouse in North Wales for BBRCC to use as self-catering accommodation in Snowdonia. In 1983, we then purchased Raven Crag, a converted Lakeland cottage in Great Langdale, the Lake District again for BBRCC’s use as self catering accommodation. The club is now based around the two houses and it also provides facilities and events to enable its members, their friends and families to enjoy the outdoors.

Events – Every year the Club runs a list of events including such activities as rock-climbing, fell-walking, navigation, mountain biking and canoeing. Beginners and more experienced people are welcome. The Annual Dinner, held in January is usually attended by 70 – 90 members, usually involving a speaker of renown from the outdoor community (Chris Bonington and Kenton Cool have both been previous speakers).

Membership – Members pay an annual ‘family membership’ fee to belong to the Club and pay accommodation fees for using the properties. Spouse, partners and children under 18 are all included in your membership. There are also many other benefits to being a member.

How do I Join? – Please read the Club Rules and confirm you agree to abide by them, as doing so is a condition of membership.

Email Application (preferred approach and quickest) – Complete the Application Form and return this on its own as an attachment to the email address shown on the form. The Membership Secretary will contact you with next steps.
Postal Application – Please complete both the Application Form and Direct Debit mandate and return them to the Membership Secretary by post to the address on the Direct Debit mandate.
